T-tops didn’t become a factory option until 1977.

Y ou could have Hurst Hatches added for ‘76 , but not many did.

Cars were stiffer and handled better without giant holes cut in the roof.

But they are nice and smexy to have.

The 76/77 T-tops are too small. They got a lot better in 78 when they switched to Fisher.

78 is the best year for the 2nd-gen Firebird/TA. It has the big T-tops and the cool front end :o)

For me, 99% of the appeal of these cars is the T-tops. When you think Camaro/Firebird/TA you think T-tops “yeah that’s the car with the T-tops” GM is stupid for leaving them out of the new ones!
